Bin Materials Audit
A WOW Bin Materials Audit (BMA) provides an engaging out-of-classroom learning experience, and establishes baseline data for your site to measure future success against.
For education sites in the Adelaide greater metropolitan area to be eligible for a BMA, your site must have booked and completed one of the four Entry Programs. Contact us to check eligibility if you are unsure. Sites in regional areas are eligible during scheduled tours - please call or email to check the next tour dates for your region.
WOW staff work with students in small groups during the day to audit a days’ worth of bin materials from your site. Check out this Behind the News clip to find out more about the auditing process and learning opportunities. https://www.abc.net.au/btn/classroom/recycling/10532554
An audit report is provided with results and recommendations for actions to improve resource management. Before booking, print the Bin Materials Audit Preparation Checklist document outlining the actions required for an audit.
Conducting a BMA is a great learning experience, providing valuable data for your site. WOW will send staff to help, which can include a staff or assembly presentation, and we'll provide a report and recommendations for you. Smaller sites (under 200 students) may instead wish to conduct their own audit quite easily (information here), although this is not recommended for larger sites.
To be considered for a re-audit please complete the Re-audit checklist and send to the WOW team.
